With all this hype around the release of the Buz Lurhmann’s adaption of The Great Gatsby it is hard not to get caught up in the whirlwind of 1920’s era.   But what is it about this era that makes people coming back for more?

The fashion reflected a time of prosperity and elegance, particularly with the new advent of speakeasies, jazz nightclubs and the ‘youths’ enjoying the night life.  Evening dresses and expensive and elegant accessories particularly demonstrated the opulence of the time.  Cocktail parties, fanciful beading, different materials of silk and velvet are certain attractions to this decade.  The art-deco movement also had influence over designs with sharp angular lines and bright colours and the floaty flapper dresses, fringing and drop-waists still inspires us today.

TFNC have picked out some Gatsby inspired items for you to keep on trend for this season. Get gaga over Gatsby with an embellished number and red lipstick to complete your vintage look!

Lady-like Lacey Looks

blog_lace

Nothing spells romance more like lace. Its fine qualities, cut-work and embroidery make it truly fit for a lady. This spring summer from the runway to celebs we can see the ultimate lace trend transform catwalks to red carpets. Even Kate Middleton makes a red carpet appearance in a vintage inspired floor length number.  We have also spotted girly skater-style dresses on Alexa Chung and Taylor Shift, fashioning the trend with neutral grays and warm cream tones. Look out for sheer detailing, lace trims and cutaway lace features in the TFNC collection.

Cut it out!

It is all about showing a little not a lot with this Spring fashion trend. Delicate cut-outs  strategically placed on your spring flowy dress shows a subtly to your seductiveness, highlighting the right amount of bare skin is the key. Little  cut-outs around the waist, back or shoulder can show off your most flattering body part and present a subdued sex appeal. Keeping to nude and neutral tones like Victoria Beckham’s cut out number above demonstrates the ultimate femininity.  TFNC adds embellishment to our cut-out Piper number with beading on the bust in a wrap V-neckline feature. The triangle cut out detail is flattering to your waist and a girly chiffon flowy skater-style skirt keeps it fresh! Shop the trend.

Winter in Spring time!

blog_springtips

Where on earth is the warm weather? I do not know about you but I refuse to give into this frosty weather that is sticking around. This is the time to be embracing colour, and if the colourful Easter eggs I so lovingly drooled over this weekend taught me anything, is to ALWAYS look delicious in colour.

To help infuse some colour into your wardrobe here are several top tips to kick on with Spring whilst dealing with wintery weather, so no excuses!

  1. Colour – Simple. Here at TFNC London we are keeping our eye balls warm with colour; powdery pinks, corals, and mints.
  2. Double tights – No need to avoid the shorter hems when you can add not one, but 2 tights to the equation. Instead of bare legs, double tights may the answer to kicking the winter funk.
  3. Spring knit –  Wool is just too bulky for your Spring look, try a lighter fabric in your sweater or knit. Try a WALG knit in our great pastel colours.
  4. Thermals – Wear a sneaky thermal in order to get away with my fab look, no one will ever know!
  5. Hats and hair – Put aside the beanie and explore stylish head-wear or a fabulous big hairstyle. Why not get on the trend-train and try the 60’s mod beehive!

Spring Time Floral Fantasies

blog_floral

It is that time of the year, the birds are chirping and there is a sprightly skip in everyone’s step. It is the season for flowers, regrowth and with the warmer weather (when it finally comes) we can frock up and attend garden parties and outdoor soirees!

But what to wear for the Spring season? There is of course the guarantee that every Spring we see flowers in fashion as a reoccurring theme, a floral explosion of flower motifs, prints and designs swarm fashion collections, but what is spectacular about the S/S13 flower trend is a shapely adaption using embellishments and embroidery. The focus is on texture giving garments a 3D feel and look. The season allows for shorter shirt lengths and flowy chiffon dresses, so on top of this adding this textured floral look to your collection will be the ultimate feminine statement! Achieve your ultra chic look at your garden party with our textured or flower dresses from TFNC. Spring winning!   TFNC x
